MAKATI CITY – Elvira Ablaza, PRIMEX’s Chairman and CEO, was elected as Italpinas Development Corporation’s (IDC) new Director during the Annual Stockholders’ Meeting (ASM).

Pacific Rim Innovation and Management Exponents, or “PRIMEX”, is a leading management consulting firm with highly established relationships with governments across Asia, as well as international financial institutions, including the Asian Development Bank.  PRIMEX is consistently ranked in the top 3 Filipino consulting firms partnered with the ADB, in terms of the value of technical assistance contracts undertaken.

For the past 25 years, Ablaza has been at the helm of PRIMEX’s operations steering its evolution into the premier international consulting firm that it is today. Not only does she supervise the company’s day-to-day operations, but she also serves as Project Director for development projects where PRIMEX is the Lead Firm and takes on consulting assignments in fisheries, natural resources, and the environment in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region.

Additionally, she has directed or co-directed a large number of foreign-assisted local projects and has served as Consultant to ADB, FAO, and CIDA projects in fisheries, natural resources, environment, and climate change for over three decades for clients from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam, and the Pacific region. As Director of the CIDA-funded Western Pacific Fisheries Consultative Committee (WPFCC), an inter-regional organization of countries in the ASEAN and Pacific Island Nations (PINs), Ablaza was a strong advocate of South-South cooperation in fisheries management between two groups of developing countries: those in the ASEAN and those in the Western Pacific.

Ensuring the high quality of the Company’s performance and the timely and satisfactory delivery of its outputs, Ablaza is also PRIMEX‘s chief quality assurance officer.

In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Ablaza is actively involved in professional organizations like the Institute of Management Consultants of the Philippines (IMPHIL) and the Confederation of Filipino Consulting Organizations (COFILCO), even making record as the first woman President of both organizations.

"I'm honored and excited to be part of IDC. The sustainability advocacy of the company is one of the reasons why I have accepted the directorship. I hope that I’ll effectively contribute to the growth of the company with my experience," said Ablaza.

IDC CEO & Chairman Arch. Romolo V. Nati explains, "We welcome Ms. Ablaza in our board and look forward to a strong relationship. Considering her long and outstanding work background and our common interest and advocacy in quality and environmental protection, she will surely bring additional value to our organization."
