IDC RECIEVES HABITAT AWARD

A partnership that started in 2013. 6 years, 53 homes and 53 families later, Italpinas Development Corporation was given the Community Builder award from Habitat for Humanity in recognition for its donation of funds and corporate volunteering. Last July 30, IDC representatives Ruby Ong-Bieri, Vice-President for Operations and HRD and Mary Ann Lopez, Vice-President for Finance and Admin received the award at the New World Hotel in Makati City.
The Community Builder award is given to, according to the Habitat for Humanity website, “to individuals and/or organizations who work together with community partners to meet community needs and to create solutions that improve the lives of fragile individuals and families.”
Last year, Habitat for Humanity celebrated its 30th year in the country. They have built homes in over 200 communities, 1,000 schools and community centers that have made a lasting impact in the lives of more than 140,000 families.
Among the attendees of the event were Fernando Zobel De Ayala who is the Chairman of the Habitat for Humanity Asia-Pacific Development Council and Walden Chu, the Chairman/President of the National Board of Trustees.
The IDC-Habitat for Humanity projects are located in various parts of the country in Pagalpat, Cagayan de Oro, Pinamalayan Mindoro, Bohol and Payatas in Quezon City.
