IDC’s Chairman & CEO Joins the First Online Business Forum with NREA Philippines
With this year’s theme “Facing the Future Thru Initiatives & Innovations” Arch, Romolo Nati, Chairman & CEO of Italpinas Development Corp. (IDC), a listed real estate company, has made green building design and building sustainable developments in Philippine’s provinces his credo shared his insights on sustainable developments in the country.
“The use of passive green features such as increased natural ventilation and shaded facades, together with the production of renewable energy through the use of photovoltaic panels and water recycling, make possible to deliver to the end-user greater comfort and a lighter energy and water consumption without a substantial cost increase,” he said.
The Philippines can be a role model for sustainable development in Asia. Architect Nati who applies nature-based design to his projects, known as biomimicry – a concept that emulates the process, systems, and strategies present in nature –believes that sustainable design will reap the most benefit in the country.
IDC’s developments are sustainable mixed-use buildings that have been conceived with the use of advanced design technology called parametric software that allows the designer to factor in local conditions so that the building orientation, shape, and features are maximized for natural ventilation and natural light. Each design is unique and adapted to a specific location and project.
