Italpinas CEO bags Special Business Leadership Award

During the 10th Anniversary event of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, sponsored by Smart Communications and that hosted prestigious speakers like DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, DOF Secretary Carlos Dominguez, BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno, IPOPHIL DG Rowel Barba, and Italian Ambassador Hon. Marco Clemente, Architect Romolo Nati, Chairman and CEO of Italpinas Development Corporation was awarded the Outstanding Business Leadership Award at the first Special Leadership awards of ICCPI.
The awarding session aimed to give recognition to 5 extraordinary business leaders who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in their respective fields and companies over the past years. The Awards were hosted by Atty. Anthony Abad, founder and senior partner of Abad Alcantara & Associates, was also previously a prominent host on Bloomberg TV, and also IPOPHIL Director-General Rowel Barba who announced the nominees and the winners. Architect Nati’s path to success has been truly inspiring also for other entrepreneurs and Italian executives since he was able to list his real estate development company on the PSE in late 2015 just after 6 years in business. He has since proven to be an outstanding businessman with an incredible sense for choosing the right location for the company’s mixed-use green buildings that are all EDGE certified.
As a fierce green building and sustainability advocate, Nati’s legacy with the Philippines will be marked forever as one of the leading pioneers in the field especially when it comes to promoting the ‘green mindset’ to the provinces. His developments in Cagayan de Oro and in Sto Tomas, Batangas are the symbol for what real estate developers can do by giving more attention to the relationship between construction and the environment where natural resources like water, wind, and sunshine are all factored in to obtain the best and more efficient building design. Together with him, the other nominees were Italian businessman Roberto Fazzini of Italfood Distribution Inc. who imports most of the Italian products we see in the supermarkets today, and also leather accessories manufacturing entrepreneur Mr. Stefano Occhipinti who operates in Clark.

Another Awards category that was assigned as the ‘Exceptional Entrepreneurship Award’, won by Roberto Fazzini, and were the other nominees were Andrea Mazza of AM Group, one of the most prominent kitchen equipment importers and distributors in Southeast Asia and where Arch. Nati was also nominated. Also recognized with an award: Mr. Luca Galli of Moet Hennessy Philippines for the Italian Executive of the Year Award, Ms. Valentina Incognito of KMC Solutions for the Woman in Business of the Year Award, and finally Ms. Jill Santos-Cua of JSC & Co. for the ItalPinay of the Year award. The very exciting online ceremony, sponsored by Airasia has proven to be the highlight of the Italian Chamber’s multiple activities to organize events and business gatherings.
Some of the winner’s emotions were high and full of enthusiasm for being awarded such prestigious awards. Thanks to the success of this first edition the Chamber will be focusing on the new year’s activities and we can already look forward to the Special Leadership Awards in 2022, hopefully, this time an in-person event.
